Located in Anderson Valley’s remote “Deep End”, Wendling is the appellation’s northernmost vineyard, and the closest one to the Pacific Ocean. The site is rimmed by evergreens and often shrouded in fog, producing wines noted for their vibrancy and focus. Our 2022 Wendling Vineyard Pinot Noir reveals the nuances offered by this exceptional vineyard. At first, an enticing mix of violets, beautiful dark fruit and baking spice take center stage while, as it opens, the rich cassis core emerges, unfurling on the palate in concentrated layers, nuanced by dark chocolate and Santa Rosa plum. Lovely fine-grained tannins and rich mouthfeel highlight the long, concentrated finish.
