A beautiful showing from Gap’s Crown Vineyard, 2018 grew under ideal growing conditions resulting in pristine fruit harvested in the third week of September. The fruit concentration and natural acidity were impeccable at harvest which led to nearly zero intervention in the cellar. With dynamic flavors the wine was fermented both in stainless steel and oak foudre with small amounts of whole cluster, making for a dynamic and compelling wine.

On the nose, the wine is lifted with violets and lavender with a core of Asian plum sauce. Well-woven acid and tannin provide scaffolding to the wine’s palate, while the wine’s inherent density pulls the wine into a lengthy-40+ second finish. Consistent with many of our Pinot Noirs, this single vineyard wine should provide plenty of enjoyment for a decade or more.
