The base wine, 100% Pinot Noir "Coeur de Cuvée" enjoyed a few months in nearly-neutral Hungarian and French oak puncheons. A touch of Pinot Noir still wine adds the Rosé color to the Blanc de Noir base wine. Tirage bottled in August 2017 and disgorged in June of 2020, this wine spent 34 months en tirage (on lees after bottle fermentation).
Lichen Estate's 2016 Brut Rosé, made of 100% estate Pinot Noir, represents one of our richest, roundest sparkling wines to date. Benefiting from 32 months en tirage, a delicious mousse lifts the fresh fruit aromatics along with classic methode champenoise toasty notes. Bright fruit flavors give way to a creamy texture and long finish. Certainly cellar worthy for years to come, but fresh and drinkable now.
