Hills and Valleys 2021 Grenache Rose, Eagle Point Ranch, Mendocino

Organically farmed, sitting on higher ground in the Mayacamas mountains overlooking the Mendocino portion of the Russian River. This westward facing vineyard has been known for generations as arguably one of the most important plantings of Grenache in Northern California. Planted in two years, 1976 and 1977, this was the first vineyard I ever visited, as my parents tell the story. We produced both Rosé and a Red in 2021; two different picks. Rosé is whole cluster direct to press; fermented in a combination of steel and neutral burgundy barrels.
