This pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendocino Ridge opens with a mild black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a mild red plum and red currant blend with notes of craisin. I also detected hint of red cherry and strawberry licorice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. This Cabernet is quite a quaffer and very food friendly and versatile. I would pair it with Emeril's most kicked-up meatloaf ever.
